On December 30, 63-year-old Elmo Harrison Jr. left a residence in Garysburg driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

He was last seen wearing black pants and a black jacket with a Korean War patch on it.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons, which has issued a Silver Alert, said Harrison is believed to have dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Captain P.A. Jacobs of the sheriff’s office said the vehicle occupied by Harrison was located disabled in Rocky Mount on Interstate 64. The vehicle was located December 31.

As of today family members or law enforcement have not been able to locate Harrison.

According to the Silver Alert, he was last seen at 252 Reid Road and was last known to be traveling north on Reid Road.
