Due to the death of board member Susie Evans, the Halifax County School Board will meet Tuesday, January 18 beginning at 4 p.m.

Evans had won reelection in 2018 and her term was set to expire this year.

The 67-year-old Enfield area resident died on January 5 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, according to an incomplete obituary posting on the H.D. Pope Funeral Home website.

The arrangements are expected to be announced at a later date.
