An Enfield man was arrested and charged Friday following a traffic stop in the Medoc area in which 51 grams of marijuana and 11 grams of cocaine were seized.

Chief Deputy Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Sergeant E. Richardson was patrolling in the Medoc Mountain area when he noticed a vehicle being operated with a registration plate violation.

Nigeria Macon, 22, was operating the vehicle with fictitious tags and further investigation led to the discovery of the drugs in a backpack. 

Richardson arrested Macon and charged him with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, operating a vehicle with no insurance, and fictitious registration plate. 

He received a $5,000 secured bond and Wednesday district court date.
