A missing Scotland Neck man was located and reported to be safe, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Chief Deputy Scott Hall Fernando Duane Pender, 44, was located at the Roanoke Rapids Walmart around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Pender had been last seen walking away from his Carrot Lane residence Saturday morning around 8 a.m.

His family reported him missing around 2 p.m. Monday.
