The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Scotland Neck man who was reported missing by his family this afternoon.

Chief Deputy Scott Hall said Fernando Duane Pender, 44, was last seen walking away from his Carrot Lane residence Saturday morning around 8 a.m.

Deputy Michael Bishop responded to the area around 2 this afternoon and took the report from the family.

Pender stands 6-feet, 2-inches tall and weighs approximately 176 pounds. He has short black hair, brown eyes and wears a black goatee.

Family members told Bishop that Pender suffers from a cognitive impairment and does not have the medicines that he requires in his possession. At this time there is no direction of travel.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 252-583-8201 or local law enforcement agency.
