The town of Halifax begins its celebration of the Christmas season on November 24 with the Halifax Christmas Market from noon to 5 p.m. and then on November 26 and 27 with the times to be announced later.

The event will be held at 105 South King Street.

Then on November 27 at 4 p.m. the annual Halifax Christmas parade steps off from Ferrell Lane at the courthouse complex and then up King Street to the Historic Courthouse.

After the parade children may visit Santa at the Christmas Market where local vendors will be selling decorations and gifts.

At dark Santa will lead the public to the lighting of the town Christmas tree at Mural Park on King Street.

There will be singing and refreshments.
