Halifax Resolves North Carolina Sons of the American Revolution chapter member Ken Wilson was recently recognized at an SAR grave-marking ceremony.

Wilson received the SAR Compatriot Grave-Marking Medal.

This award recognizes an individual member’s participation in the marking of deceased members' graves.

A total of 15 grave markings must be met to qualify for the award.

NC SAR President Rear Admiral Jay A. DeLoach, who is retired from the United States Navy, presented the medal to Wilson at an event in Louisburg.

Wilson is only the second SAR member in the nation and the second member in North Carolina to receive this award.
