Vidant North Hospital recently served breakfast to 12 National EMS Memorial Bike riders.

The riders began their Davidson to Richmond trek on September 19 and arrived in Roanoke Rapids on September 24.

From there they headed to Petersburg and on September 25 began the final leg to Richmond. In all they traversed 491 miles.

The ride is to honor and celebrate the lives of those who work in emergency services and those who have become sick or injured while performing their job responsibilities, as well as, those who have died in the line of duty.

This ride also brings awareness to the dangers that EMS providers face on a daily basis.

More information on the ride can be found at this link.
