The percentage of positive COVID-19 cases has decreased to a four-week average of 7 percent, the Halifax County Health Department today.

It is a measure which comes from labs which report to the state and gives the health department an idea of the number of cases with respect to the amount of testing being performed.

The health department also reported today that after Tuesday, a day in which no new positives were added, five new positives have been recorded, bringing the total number of positive cases since March of last year to 5,611. There have been 112 related deaths.
