The Center for Energy Education has scheduled the following events:
On April 4 a community sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m.
The service will be led by leaders from local churches.
The Easter message will be given by Reverend Joseph Malcolm “Sonny” Browne III of All Saints Episcopal Church in Roanoke Rapids.
Other special guests are Reverend Erica D. Smith of Cool Spring Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Dioncio y Olga Fabela of Monte De Sion Iglesia Pentecostal Church, and Reverend Joseph Battle of Quankey Missionary Baptist Church. A light breakfast will be provided.
On April 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., a drive-through job fair will be held.
The participating companies include Reser's Fine Foods, Don Pancho, Lowe's Distribution, Professional Staffing, Express Personnel, Kind Hearts Home Healthcare, and NC Works Career Center. Those eligible for work must be 18 or older and able to legally work in the United States, have reliable transportation, and a resume is preferred.
Local residents will have the opportunity to apply for jobs and register for New Start programs. Participants must remain in their cars at all times.
The center is located at 460 Airport Road in Roanoke Rapids.
CDC guidelines will be followed.
