Today the health department also added 31 new positive cases of COVID-19 to its data, which brings the cumulative total of positives since March to 2,263.
There continues to be a sustained increase in the trend of positive cases which health Director Bruce Robistow Thursday attributed to holiday gatherings, travel, cold weather, keeping gatherings inside and non-compliance with the Three W’s — handwashing, waiting 6-feet apart, and wearing a facial covering.
He also said Thursday, “A continuation on this trajectory will result in more restrictions being set by the governor. It is up to each and everyone of us to get this under control.”
Thursday’s 48 new positive cases were the most since the pandemic began, the health department reported.
