The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Roanoke Rapids man already facing sexual assault counts in Virginia with sexual counts involving a minor child.

In Greensville County, Donald Lee Faulcon Sr., 53, faces counts which reflect him being the step parent of the victim.

He was charged with allegedly committing aggravated sexual battery by abusing a female victim who at the time was less than 18, Chief Deputy Scott Hall of the Halifax sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Virginia authorities allege he committed rape by having intercourse with the victim, a crime which was committed through deadly force, threat or intimidation against the victim.

Roanoke Rapids police arrested Faulcon on October 16 and he was jailed without opportunity for bond on a fugitive warrant.

Further investigation by Halifax County detectives L.E. Mann and R.B. Biggerstaff resulted in two counts of indecent liberties with a child and statutory sex offense being lodged against Faulcon. The charges reflect the victim in the case was less than 15, Hall said in the statement.

Asked this morning whether the victim in the Halifax County case was the same as the Virginia victim, Hall declined comment “on the victim or victims” in the case.

Faulcon was served the Halifax County warrants on October 19 and received a $50,000 secured bond.

He remains in the Halifax County Detention Center and has a November 7 court date in Halifax.

Hall said extradition proceedings are expected at some point in the case.

Disseminating obscene material

Hall said on August 11, the sheriff’s office received information of a Roanoke Rapids man who reportedly sent pornographic images to an underage girl on Facebook.

Through an investigation by Biggerstaff, a warrant was obtained on Christopher Grant 27.

Grant was charged with disseminating obscene material to a minor. He was arrested on October 28 and received a $1,000 bond.

He has a first court appearance set for November 7.

Hall declined comment on whether Grant allegedly sent photos of himself to the victim.

Arrests after altercation

On October 16, deputies responded to a residence near Old Airport Road about a man with outstanding warrants.

Deputies learned an argument was taking place between the adult residents.

A male victim was stabbed in the leg by a woman.

Niketta Hawkins, 26, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and placed in the Halifax County Detention Center with a $500 secured bond.

Jermeny Perkins, 29, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested due to an outstanding warrant for injury to personal property which occurred earlier that day at the residence.

Perkins was placed in the Halifax County Detention Center without the opportunity for bond pending a first appearance.

Deputy J. Pignanello, S. Stansbury,  Deputy J. Jenkins, and Sergeant R. Ball assisted Sergeant L. Mann with the arrests of the pair.

Larceny arrest

On September 27, the sheriff’s office received a report of a larceny from a residence in the Bolling Road area of Roanoke Rapids.

Through investigation by Biggerstaff warrants were obtained on Dustin Mountford 27, of Roanoke Rapids.

Mountford was charged with felony larceny, felony conspiracy and possession of stolen goods. Mountford was arrested on October 27 and received a $10,000 bond.

He has a first court appearance set for November 7.

During the investigation most of the stolen property was collected at a local pawn shop and returned to the owner.

Additional arrests are expected.
