The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Bobby Martin:

Tuesday shortly after 2:30 p.m. Officer C. Hagbourne was dispatched to Walmart about a larceny by employee case.

Hagbourne discovered a gaming system was taken by the employee. 

Hagbourne placed the former employee under arrest and carried him before a magistrate. 

Ray Seabron, 26, of the Roanoke Rapids area, was charged with felony larceny by employee. He received a $2,000 bond with a November 4 court date.

 

Thursday shortly before 2 a.m. Master Officer J. Spragins was in the area of the 1300 block of Roanoke Avenue when he noticed a small vehicle traveling north. 

He saw a white Ford Escape pass it using the turning lane. 

Spragins conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of the avenue.

He noted a newly purchased beer in a brown paper bag in the vehicle. 

Officer A. Radford was on scene and spoke to the passenger. 

The passenger was under age and in possession of a malt beverage. 

The passenger was cited on a state citation and released. 

Spragins continued his investigation and spoke further with the driver, Andrew Alston, of the Roanoke Rapids area. Alston, 29, was placed under arrest on suspicion of DWI.

He was charged with DWI and cited for driving without a license and passing left of center.

He received a $500 bond and October 26 court date.
