Enfield police along with CSX police continue to investigate a case this afternoon in which a person was fatally struck by a train.

Captain Dreher Bozard said in a statement the police department responded to South East Railroad Street where a person was lying unresponsive on the tracks.

Investigation determined the person was struck by a train.

Bozard and Lieutenant Willie Murphy are working with Amtrak and CSX police.

Currently the only information investigation has revealed is the deceased person is not from the local area.

Further details are expected once next of kin is notified.
