The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Selective Traffic Enforcement Program team worked the highways in Halifax County this week and netted the following, according to Chief Deputy Scott Hall:

Warning tickets: 23
Arrests made: 6
Drug charges: 10
Criminal charges: 1
Traffic tickets: 2
Fugitive located: 1
Order for arrest: 1
Cash seized: $1,351
Gun seized: 1
Cell phone seized: 1
Heroin seized: 5 dosage units
Marijuana seized: 74 grams
Methamphetamine seized: 71 grams
Other dosage units of drugs: 11
Those arrested and charged:
Jocelyn Gray, 23, of Rocky Mount — carrying a concealed weapon
Angela Wiggins, 30, of Winston-Salem — possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia
Omar Moate, 42, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania — possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine, fugitive warrant for delivery of drugs causing death. He was arrested and will be extradited back to Pennsylvania.
Shaun McAlaranen, 38, of Birdsboro, Pennsylvania — possession of methamphetamine,
possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance
Shaun Shackleford, 28, of Rocky Mount — possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia
Shannon Pridgen, 30, of Rocky Mount — possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia
The stats and arrests are reflective of a traffic enforcement program conducted this week mainly on Interstate 95.
The sheriff’s office implemented the unit in January.
