B&J’s Cash and Carry was named the Roanoke Valley Chamber of Commerce Business of the Week.
The business began when James E. Allen Sr. purchased the business from Boykin and Southern in 2005.
They changed the name to B&J’s Cash and Carry to represent the new owners, Beverly and James Allen.
It began in the Stokes Distributing Building as a tobacco and paper product business.
Their son, Jay, joined the family business in 2008.
The business moved to its current location at 418 Becker Drive in December of 2010 and expanded by adding new product lines including various food items, janitorial supplies, and many other products.
Jay purchased the business in 2018 and James and Beverly eased into retirement.
“The business continues to welcome new customers as well as opportunities to grow,”Jay said. “B&J’s Cash and Carry is blessed to have the best staff and customers. They consider it an honor to serve the Roanoke Valley and surrounding areas and are thankful for all of their customers.”
Said Jay: “They are thankful to God for the chance to serve the community and look forward to what he has in store for the family and the business.”
