As of midnight Thursday, the Halifax County Health Department is aware of 1,260 confirmed COVID-19 tests performed on residents.

The following is a breakdown of those results:

203 positive cases; one related death and 158 recoveries.

The approximate number of current cases can be calculated by subtracting the recoveries from the cumulative positive results since testing began.

There are seven tests pending and 1,050 known negative results.

Halifax County Health Director Bruce Robistow said in his afternoon update three more positive cases were added to today’s report. “The trend line therefore continues the downward trend. Although the trend line continues to show a downward trend, it also shows that COVID-19 is still here as we continue with daily positive test results. Therefore, we all need to continue to practice the Three Ws and also continue to follow the governor’s executive orders.”
