U.S. Cellular employees from across the region this afternoon helped children at the Boys & Girls Club of Halifax County get a jump on Earth Day, which is Friday.
The children, with help from the employees, made planters out of soda bottles, planted a variety of vegetables and spices in them and hung them on the fence to soak up sun and water.
The program was part of the company's Month of Giving project.
