The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Captain Jamie Hardy:

On January 22, officers responded to DrugCo about a woman who was attempting to pass a forged and altered prescription in which she sought extra pills.

The woman, Faith Taylor, was leaving the parking lot as officers arrived.

Officer C. Hagbourne initiated a traffic stop and Officer C. Batchelor assisted.

The officers contacted PACE Team members Joe Desare and Brandon Council, who, upon a search of the vehicle, located a straw containing a white powdered residue and a 5-hour Energy bottle wrapped in aluminum foil to carry clean urine in a reputed attempt to defeat a drug test.

Taylor was charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She has a February 5 court date.

On January 21, Sergeant D. Hundley was dispatched to Roanoke Avenue and East Littleton Road on a wreck call.

The party who struck the rear of the victim’s vehicle left the scene. The victim provided a description of the vehicle which struck her.

Hundley observed a vehicle matching the description on Zoo Road near Karen Street.

The vehicle had front end damage consistent to the damage sustained from the hit and run.

Caleb Harris had an outstanding order for arrest and was charged with hit and run — leaving the scene of property damage, failure to appear in court and simple possession of schedule IV.

He has a February 21 court date.

On January 21, Detective Derrick Moore completed investigation involving theft of a motor vehicle from White Motors. 

The case originated when Moore was reviewing video obtained while investigating vehicle break-ins. 

Moore developed Amber McCoy, Tony Lynn Jenkins and Raukeem Edmonds as the alleged suspects.

The vehicle was being worked on when it was stolen, Hardy said, and the three drove the 2016 Malibu, wrecked it and left it at Bobby’s with a flat tire.

McCoy was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and injury to property.

Jenkins was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, injury to property, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, felony larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Edmonds was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, felony larceny and possession of stolen goods.

On January 16, a search warrant was executed at 112 Lewis Street following an ongoing narcotics investigation.

Cocaine, marijuana, an AK-47 assault rifle, and a large amount of currency was seized. 

Terrance Moody and his son, Erik Moody, were charged with maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession of schedule II, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Terrance Moody bonded out on $30,000 secured bail and Erik bonded out on $20,000 secured bail.
