The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office today arrested Mark Anthony Peterson Jr., 25, of Littleton, on charges involving the theft of a firearm.

Detective Obert Wiltsie said in a statement the warrants were the result of investigation into a larceny report from Aurelian Springs on July 29.

The charges were for larceny of a firearm and possession of stolen firearm.

Peterson was arrested without trouble around 11:30 a.m. and given a $6,000 bond for a September 16 court date.
