The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is investigating a Sunday morning break-in where an estimated $32,000 in equipment was taken from storage buildings at T.J. Davis Recreation Center.
Deputy Chief Andy Jackson said the break-in was reported just before 8 a.m. Entry was forced.
Theft following the break-in included a utility trailer, two zero-turn mowers and gas-powered trimmers and blowers.
Lieutenant Charles Vaught said investigators continue to work on the case.
Meanwhile, Jackson reported over the weekend there were around eight vehicle break-ins involving mostly unlocked vehicles.
They were reported in the 200 block of Hamilton, 1000 block of Marshall and Seventh, the 900 block of Henry and on Allen Avenue.
Victims reported a pistol stolen and change, class rings and $45 in cash taken.
