A followup investigation Monday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a Roanoke Rapids man on meth and cocaine counts.

Another man in the residence on Raleigh Drive was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon, according to Captain A.M. Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Agents went to the residence around 3 p.m. and encountered 27-year-old Brandon Reeves and 21-year-old Jonathan Coley of Jefferson Street.

The home was seized and a search warrant was applied for and granted.

Agents arrested and charged Reeves, 27, for possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.

Agents seized methamphetamine, cocaine and several items of drug paraphernalia.

Reeves received a $20,000 bond with a January 22 court date.

Harris said in a statement, however, this was not his brush with law enforcement.

On September 1, deputies and narcotics agents executed a search warrant at this residence. During the search of the property, meth, fentanyl, several items of drug paraphernalia, a handgun, two rifles and several power tools were seized. 

Reeves was arrested and charged with several drug violations.

In addition to the court date for Monday’s charges, he is scheduled to appear in court on January 15 for the following counts:

Misdemeanor larceny

Misdemeanor possession of stolen goods

Felony possession of schedule I

Felony possession of schedule II

Possession of paraphernalia

Possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II

Maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance

Felony possession of schedule I

Two counts felony possession of a stolen firearm

Possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule I

Simple possession of schedule III

Felony possession of schedule II

Maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Carrying a concealed weapon

Felony possession of schedule I

No operators license.

Homeland Security and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation agents assisted.

Coley was cited for possession of paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon. He has a January 13 court date.
