State and congressional Representatives, area commissioners, RHG board members and Vidant personnel attended the event.

“This stand-alone modern medical facility has been years in the making,” Rural Health CEO Yvonne Long-Gee said. “Rural Health Group providers and our staff members have been working out of two little rooms adjacent to the emergency room at Halifax Regional. This brand new facility provides our patients with an even better experience.  We’re so thankful to everyone who has worked to make this become a reality.”
