The Division of Employment Security is facilitating Klausner Lumber in Enfield for additional jobs needed by one of its contractors.

Taylor Hawkins III, Division of Workforce Solutions manager at the Roanoke Rapids office, said the jobs the contractor — Hoffman — is offering are two- to three-month jobs but those hired could be considered for full-time positions with Klausner once the project is completed.

The contractor needs electricians, journeymen electricians, welders and construction workers.

'Those interested should call the DES office at 252-537-4188, extension 207 for more information.

The company is looking to interview next week.

Interested applicants should apply at the employment office at Becker Village Mall located at 1620 East Tenth Street.

The company will be looking for general plant workers in the future but is not accepting those applications at this time.

The state and county announced plans for Klausner in 2012.

The company plans to create 350 jobs and invest $110 million.

The project was made possible in part by state grants from the Job Development Investment Grant and the One North Carolina Fund.

The company produces custom-sized rough and planed lumber products that are used in the construction, pressure treating, secondary processing, furniture and packaging industries.
