The Weldon Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chris Davis:
Monday around 9:30 a.m., Officer S. McKimmey responded to the 200 block of Washington Avenue about a trespasser.
The suspect had already left but damaged the building.
McKimmey identified the purported suspect as Cora Lee Edwards, 56, of Weldon.
McKimmey obtained a warrant on Edwards for misdemeanor breaking and entering, first-degree trespass, and injury to real property.
Police have been unable to locate her.

Tuesday shortly after 8 p.m., Sergeant L. Melton responded to the 200 block of East Second Street on a shoplifting call.
While the person was not at the location, Melton spoke with the store manager and collected some information.
Melton identified the purported suspect as Jonathan Paul Lucas, 27, of Roanoke Rapids.
Melton located him and took him before a magistrate where he was charged with misdemeanor larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He received a $1,000 secured bond and December 11 court date.
