The case of a tractor that was reported missing at the end of July came down to a communication breakdown and no charges will be filed, the detective with the Halifax County Sheriff's Office investigating the matter said today.
Detective Obert Wiltsie said the tractor was borrowed without asking. It was located after numerous calls were received, he said in a statement.
The Massey Ferguson tractor was taken from property in the Highway 903 area of Roanoke Rapids between the dates of July 23 and July 26 2014.
“The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank the citizens for calling in with information in this case,” Wiltsie said in the statement. “It is a vital part of any case, not only the sheriff’s office, but any law enforcement agency to have the cooperation of the citizens.”
