Roanoke Rapids police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred shortly before 11:45 Monday night at the Holiday Inn Express on Premier Boulevard.
Chief Andy Jackson said two men wearing black, hooded jackets and black ski masks entered the lobby and demanded money, both brandishing pistols.
They wore black gloves and stood around 6-feet tall and had medium builds. They were described as black males.
They left the hotel with an undisclosed amount of money and were last seen on foot headed north, possibly towards the railroad tracks or the nearby industrial park.
