Roanoke Rapids City Council will hold a public hearing next Monday night to garner citizen comments on the purchase of 15 vehicles by using installment financing.
The total planned purchase is $558,495 for a three-year term at a 1.4 percent fixed rate from First Citizens.
The vehicles include seven for the police department; one trash truck; one property maintenance truck; two trucks for the parks and recreation department; two street department trucks and two vehicles for the fire department — a truck and Ford Expedition.
Annual payment is $191,401.78.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall on Jackson Street.
City Manager Joseph Scherer said at a meeting last week the purpose of the hearing was to provide transparency in city business and offer the public a chance to comment.
