A Roanoke Rapids minister facing a count of indecent liberties with a child had his first appearance in Halifax County District Court continued Wednesday.

The first appearance is not scheduled now until July 30, according to the Halifax County Clerk of Courts Office.

No outcome is expected in William Ray Meinsen's first appearance in district court. He will either face a probable cause hearing or the Grand Jury will consider an indictment against him most likely in its September term.

The Halifax County Sheriff's Office charged him in June following an investigation that determined there was probable cause to proceed with the case.
