The second person wanted in a May robbery in the Thelma Road area surrendered over the weekend.

Detective J.M. Clark of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Marquita Williams made arrangements with the sheriff's office to turn herself in on Saturday.

Clark charged her with robbery with a dangerous weapon, malicious assault in secret, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, financial card theft, financial card fraud, and identity theft. Williams was jailed under a $15,000 bond, pending a September 3 court date.

The charges stem from an investigation where the victim was struck with a blunt object, and the suspects reportedly used the victim’s stolen debit card at the Rocky Mount Walmart.

Jonathan Pilgrim, another suspect in the case, was arrested late Thursday by Roanoke Rapids Police on a separate matter.
