A Garysburg man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend last week was found hiding in a closet at her residence today.

The girlfriend was also charged, according to Captain Chuck Hasty of the Northampton County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office arrested Curtis Antonio Ramsey, 35, on outstanding warrants for the matter that took place last Thursday on Sykes Lane in Garysburg. He was also served a fugitive warrant.

Investigator Courtney Williams, Deputy William James and Hasty were following up on leads in the case when they located Ramsey hiding in a closet.

For the matter relating to the alleged assault on his girlfriend, he was charged with first-degree sex offense, assault on a female and communicating threats.

He was also charged with being a fugitive from justice in Maryland where he faces drug and child support counts.

He was being held with the opportunity for bond due to the domestic nature of the case. He has a court date of June 12.

The woman he reportedly assaulted, Amanda Richardson, 25, of Garysburg was also arrested at the residence and charged with harboring a fugitive.Hasty said it appears she took him back after the assault last week.

She was given a $1,000 bond and June 12 court date.
