Sheetz is expected to begin construction of a new store in the fall, Planning and Development Director Kelly Lasky told Roanoke Rapids City Council at its Tuesday night meeting.
Lasky said she recently received a call from an engineer for the firm stating construction is expected to begin in October or November with a targeted opening date of February.
The company submitted site plans in January.
