A Littleton man wanted for a series of HVAC parts thefts was caught Friday evening after the Halifax County Sheriff's Office detective investigating the case spotted him riding as a passenger in a vehicle.
Jerry Ikee Stovall, 25, was arrested following the stop and jailed on $60,000 bond.
Detective Chris Scott was in the area of Highway 158 near the Davie Volunteer Fire Department when he reportedly spotted Stovall riding in a green Nissan Sentra.
Stovall had been entered into national criminal databases as a wanted person the same day. The stop occurred shortly before 7:45 p.m.
He faces numerous charges tied to the theft of heating and air unit parts from at least 13 unoccupied homes, churches and businesses in the Littleton and surrounding area.
Scott estimated damage caused by the alleged thefts, in which the parts were sold for scrap, totaled around $5,000.
Stovall may face further charges. He awaits a May 28 court date.
