A Severn juvenile has been petitioned to court following a Thursday afternoon stabbing.
Captain Chuck Hasty of the Northampton County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to South Street in Severn shortly after 12:45 p.m. after receiving a stabbing call.
Deputy Travis Turner, Lieutenant Jason Boone and Conway Police Chief Billy Duke were the first to arrive and found the victim was cut in the arm, reportedly by a 15-year-old.
The victim told Turner that he and the juvenile got into an argument that led to the 15-year-old pulling a knife and allegedly cutting the victim.
Hasty said it was unclear what the argument was about.
The Conway-Severn Rescue Squad treated the victim, but he refused transport to the hospital.
Turner, Boone and Duke located the juvenile and took him into custody without incident. They also located the weapon used in the assault.
The juvenile was petitioned to court for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and was placed into custody until a hearing Monday.
