Halifax County has named Chelsie L. White its new human resources management director to replace Carolyn Parker, who retired earlier this year.

White begins his duties with the county on Monday,

White comes to the county from Richmond, Virginia. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Hampton University and a master's degree in general administration from Central Michigan University.

He will be responsible for overseeing all human resources management functions to serve more than 500 county employees from nearly 20 departments.

White has a human resources background, including service with public and private sectors as well as with the U.S. Army as a commissioned officer.

In his past positions he has specialized in employee relations and compensation.

"Issues with human resources management can be technical, complicated and sensitive in nature,” County Manger Tony Brown said in a press release. “We are delighted to have Mr. White join our management team and look forward to benefiting from his extensive human resources experience."

White will be relocating to Halifax County in the near future.
