“It was a very successful night,” Macon said. “It’s a Click It or Ticket campaign. We participate in all of them through saturation patrols or checking stations. We use these campaigns to help get highway safety equipment.”
Macon told the participating officers before the campaign, “We’re not just looking for numbers, we’re looking for a successful campaign.”
Weldon Officer Lanntjuan Clanton coordinated the event and the state Highway Patrol and Enfield Police Department participated as well.

The Weldon Fire Department provided the lighting for the checkpoint.
Macon said the child safety restraint violations were split between not having one or not having one properly installed. “It’s the responsibility of the licensed driver to comply with the child restraint laws.”
