Terrell and Tirrell Simmons allegedly stole several items from a local welding and mechanical service business on April 24, according to Roanoke Rapids police.
The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office served Roanoke Rapids police warrants on the twin brothers, 23, of Sam Powell Dairy Road, Sunday after they were arrested a second time for metal theft in the county.
The Roanoke Rapids Police Department said this morning the business in April reported the theft of a 12-foot, 4-inch steel beam, a three over five JR beam, a truck frame and an axle. The value of the items to the company was $2,450.
Detective Corey Dixon investigated the Roanoke Rapids case and determined through investigation at different area scrap yards the brothers allegedly sold the items and obtained $134.50 for them.
They face charges in Roanoke Rapids of obtaining property by false pretense and possession of stolen goods.
