The victim’s son was able to escape and dash inside the house and grab a gun. The victim fired at the two men and one was struck in the leg.
The men got to a getaway vehicle and fled but were met on Blue Sky Road by Deputy Charlie Jenkins, who had a description. Jenkins stopped the vehicle.
Two people inside were described as those allegedly involved in the attempt and one appeared to have a gunshot wound. The third suspect fled but was picked up later in the evening.
