Weldon police Monday charged a woman with possession of around 2 grams of fentanyl after she reportedly refused to leave a residence.

Chief Chris Davis said Officer N. Coles responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Julian R. Allsbrook Highway after receiving a call about a person refusing to leave the premises. The call came in shortly before 6 p.m.

Coles encountered Kelly Lynn Spivey, 33, of Weldon. His investigation resulted in the seizure of five plastic bags containing fentanyl and a plastic straw from the woman.

Spivey was arrested and taken before a magistrate. She faces charges of possession of a schedule II narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She received a $1,500 secured bond and September 4 court date.
