There was no robbery at Southern Bank on 10th Street this morning but bank personnel were concerned about the actions of a customer, Major Tommy Hathaway of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said.
Hathaway said shortly before 9 a.m. a customer came in to conduct a transaction. After completing the transaction he discovered one of his bills was torn. After standing outside the customer came back in and asked for a new bill.
Hathaway said because the man stood outside before coming back in and the manner in which he asked for the new bill made employees uncomfortable.
There will be no charges filed.
