The Roanoke Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold the 2013 Annual Women’s Conference on February 23 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at The Centre at Halifax Community College.
The conference annually gathers women of all ages to celebrate the mind, body and spirit of women.
There will be a speaker presentation featuring Tiffany Delano, 2012 NPC Ms. NC State Champion.
Tiffany has overcome much adversity in her life. She has chosen to use her life’s challenges as a motivation to survive, succeed and inspire others.
The conference will also feature workshops that address nutrition and fitness, skincare and makeup, empowerment, positive parenting tips, and having a positive body image as well as a Spiritual Spa and cooking demonstration. In addition to workshops, there will be a vendor exhibition with gift items, services for women, jewelry and clothes.
Also in attendance will be author Toshiba Alston-Smith with her newly released book.
The 2013 Woman of the Year will be announced at the conference as well as the new Young Woman of the Year.
Nominees will be highlighted and the winner honored during the stage presentation. Nominees for 2013 Woman of the Year include: Cindy Elias, Corine Banks, Cymie Rawlins, Phyllis Chavis, Evelyn Dawson, Ruby Ward, Cindy Dixon, Betty Bennett, Julia Meacham and Lisa Salmon. Young woman nominees include: Taylor Peedin and Jessica Towns.
Tickets are still available and include all the day’s events as well as lunch provided by Jermonico’s Café & Catering and a few vendor spots remain. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for high school students and may be purchased at the Roanoke Valley Chamber Office at 260 Premier Boulevard, Roanoke Rapids, NC or New Day Fitness at 1388 Gregory Lane in Roanoke Rapids.
