An Enfield woman was charged Thursday with larceny by employee after her reports came up short at the store where she worked.

Chief Deputy Wes Tripp of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy T.R. Staton arrested 40-year-old Tanya Annette Faison.

Tripp said in a news release Faison allegedly manipulated cash sales using the cash register and pocket currency.

This was discovered December 29. Tripp said it not clear how long this allegedly occurred. He said an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the New Dixie Mart store on Highway 301 in Halifax.

She was released on $5,000 unsecured bond and has a February 13 court date.
