The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious fire of a 1996 Nissan Maxima, belonging to Jermeny Lemuel Perkins of Carolina Rest Home Road in Roanoke Rapids.
At approximately 4:30 in the morning Thursday, Perkins discovered his vehicle on fire in his yard after he awakened from dogs barking, according to Chief Deputy Wes Tripp.
Evidence was found at the scene to suggest possible arson. Tripp declined to discuss the evidence.
