The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday mistakenly sent the wrong photo of Sussex County murder suspect Kelvin Kennedy Parker II.

The photo above and the wanted poster from the Sussex County contain the correct photo.

Major Bruce Temple issued the following explanation this morning:

"Just to clarify/verify why someone else’s picture showed up under the wanted name of Kelvin Parker, we generated the picture from a law enforcement data base ( CJ Leads). Somewhere outside of this agency, an apparent data entry mistake occurred, placing a person with a past arrest into the picture section of Kelvin Parker. We cannot make a determination exactly where the data entry error occurred, however we have ensured a correction through the magistrate’s system."
