A Conway man was arrested Monday on a Halifax County Sheriff’s Office warrant for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Detective R. Rooks of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Raymond Reese, 60, on the Halifax warrant.
The case stems from an investigation by Rooks where Reese allegedly took a .22-caliber rifle to a Roanoke Rapids pawn shop and received $30 for it.
A pawnshop report showed the transaction and investigation revealed Reese, who was convicted of a felony in 2002, was prohibited to have any weapons.
He was given a $1,500 bond and has a December 5 court date in Halifax.
