A Murfreesboro man died Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision outside Woodland, according to the state Highway Patrol.

Roy Futrell, 72, was driving his pickup on Highway 258 around 5:30 p.m. as a tractor-trailer driver was backing his rig into his yard, Trooper L. Bynum said.

Futrell struck the left side of the trailer and his pickup became stuck underneath the rig.

Bynum said the collision would require further investigation from a reconstruction team before it is determined whether any charges will be filed and the exact circumstances leading to the crash.
