A Roanoke Rapids man was charged Saturday with allegedly stealing a farm tractor and selling it for scrap.
Detective H.L. Williams of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office charged Erik Shane Lassiter, 24, with felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods and obtaining property by false pretense.
Lassiter was charged with allegedly stealing a Ford farm tractor from a local resident in Halifax. He allegedly used a tow truck to take the tractor to a salvage yard where it was sold and scrapped.
Lassiter was jailed on $5,000 bond and has a September 26 court date.
