A Scotland Neck man allegedly suspected of stealing money from the company he worked for was arrested when he reported for his job this morning.

Anthony Lamont Johnson, 40, faces two counts of larceny by employee, according to a press release from Detective H.L. Williams of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

The business Johnson worked with reported the crime on July 30 after investigating missing money in-house for several months.

Johnson was jailed on $2,000 bond and has an August 29 court date.

Williams could not be immediately reached for further comment.
