Two people allegedly seen carrying property out of a house Wednesday were apprehended following a canine track and observance by the victim.
Halifax County Sheriff’s Office detectives H.L. Williams and O.L. Wiltsie, along with several members of B-Squad including Deputy Jason Keeter and his dog, Broady, responded to the active break-in call in the Roanoke Rapids area.
Keeter, Broady and Williams tracked the subjects through the woods. The victim saw a green sport utility vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed and notified Williams as the canine track was started. Williams called in the vehicle description and direction of travel.
Wiltsie and Sergeant W.P. Ward stopped the vehicle on Highway 158. The victim later identified the suspects and the property was recovered.
