According to a statement by Detective S.A. Bryant the suspect is described as standing 6-feet tall and appears to weigh between 220 to 240 pounds.
Chief Deputy Scott Hall said earlier today the robbery occurred around 4 this morning.
In the latest statement Bryant said the suspect entered the store and demanded money. No one was injured.
Hall said an undisclosed amount of money was taken and it was too early to determine whether this robbery was related to four others which occurred over the past few weeks — three in the city limits of Roanoke Rapids and one in Weldon.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Bryant at 252-583-8201 or Crimestoppers 252-583-4444.
